I can say that the skin is the largest organ of the body that covers the entire surface of our body. It is composed of outer epidermis, an inner dermis, and a layer of subcutaneous fat below the dermis. An average skin is between 1 and 2mm thick. The skin of the eye is 0.5mm thick.

- Sebaceous Glands
- The Capillaries in the Dermis
- Sweat Glands
- Sense Organs
- Subcutaneous Fat
- Protection: The skin protects the body against dehydration, invading microbes, mechanical damage, and damage due to ultra violent rays and poisonous chemicals
- Control Of Body Temperature: This plays a major role in temperature control (vasodilation and vasoconstriction).
- Response to Stimuli: This also contains receptor sensitive to heat cold touch and pressure.
- Excretory Organ: It has a minor role as an excretory organ. Urea and lactic acid are lost.
- Production of Vitamin D: The skin produces vitamin D in the fatty cells by using infra-red rays of the sun.
