An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a newly-created dynamic team and work directly in support of UCL’s students, staff and external visitors. Posts are available as follows:
This post is recruited on part time basis. The successful candidate will work 14.6 hours (0.4FTE) per week. Candidates should indicate which of the posts they are applying for (may select more than one post):
Monday – Friday 07:00 – 15:00 ; Monday – Friday 15:00 – 23:00;
Saturday & Sunday 07:00 – 15:00; 5 posts; Saturday & Sunday 15:00 – 23:00.
As an Information Assistant you will be based in UCL’s flagship new Student Centre, playing a pivotal role in providing frontline Help Point services within UCL’s newest facility.
Working as part of a team, you will work at service points throughout the Student Centre, depending on service requirements. You will offer excellent customer help and support at the point of need and facilitate the learning environment whilst roving within the spaces managed by the library team.
Key Requirements
You will be educated to GSCE standard (or equivalent) and have knowledge, understanding and experience of working in customer focused environments. The post holder will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and be willing to acquire new skills as required for service delivery in a changing environment. You will possess excellent IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
You will work collaboratively with team members to share good practice and encourage knowledge exchange between colleagues to facilitate continuous improvement within the service. You will also be expected to work accurately, displaying attention to detail and will be required to use your own initiative, resolving problems independently where possible.
