About the Role
Contribute to the effective delivery of professional employment relation services to management and employees across the Metro South Hospital and Health Service. Provide comprehensive administration support to facilitate service delivery for the Employment Relations Unit. Employment Relations incudes industrial disputes and advocacy, policy, award interpretation, applications before courts and tribunals and general industrial and human resource advice.


  • Ensure that all communication, both oral and written is accurate and informative, and requests are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Act as primary point of contact for the Employee Relations unit for all incoming communication.
  • Assist in the provision of an advisory service to line managers and staff across a range of human resource functions.
  • Participate in the case management and investigation of grievances, industrial matters and disputes.
  • Provide confidential, high level administration support including the production of high quality documents and records; collation of information for preparation of briefing notes; enquiry screening and electronic diary management including the timely provision of necessary records and documentation as required by the Director, Employment Relations.
  • Use a range of applications including Microsoft programs (excel, word, access, PowerPoint), electronic databases, record and diary management systems to administratively support the Director, Employment Relations.
  • Use a range of internal information and workforce systems and databases to generate reports, analyse information and disseminate information to stakeholders where required, including consultative forums and employee Union organisations.
  • Have the ability to analyse issues, establish a course of action and adopt a pro-active approach to issues resolution with minimum direction.
